China’s pool and spa companies have returned or are preparing to return to work as COVID-19 has been contained in the country. Here come hot spots of China’s pool & spa industry for you by Asia Pool & Spa Expo Committee.
 
Ø On April 1, China Hot Springs Tourism Association announced that related associations in Yunnan, Liaoning, Jilin, Guangxi, Jiangxi, Zhejiang, Guangdong, Fujian, Jiangsu, and other provinces or cities have contacted with departments in charge to provide comfortable recuperation experience for front-line medical personnel.
 
Ø On March 29, Jiuyu Hanshui Hot Spring Tourist Resorts in Hanzhong City, Shaanxi Province was officially opened. With a total investment of 368 million yuan in P1, the resort covers a total construction area of some 42,500 sq.m., 30,000 sq.m. of which for hot spring area comprised of 56 pools.
 
Ø Since March 25, partial indoor swimming pools across China have been reopened, such as Shanghai, Jiangsu, Sichuan, Zhejiang, accompanied by a series of prevention work like restricting the number of participants, measuring temperature and checking health certificates, etc.
 
Ø On March 12, the Education Department of Hainan Province released the key tasks for 2020, proposing to speed up the popularization of swimming education in primary and secondary schools, add more 69 swimming pools up to a total of 300 ones in schools, and offer swimming courses to at less100,000 students each year.
 
Ø At the end of 2019, the Department of Education of Guangdong required that from 2020, schools across the province should promote the popularization of swimming education.
∙ For this, Shenzhen Education Bureau said that from 2022, swimming would be listed as a mandatory exam of senior high school entrance examination in the city. The Bureau will urge all districts to formulate related plans and build a batch of swimming pools in line with the national standard.
∙ Yangjiang Education Bureau announced that it planned to train 100 swimming teachers every year from 2020 to prepare for the city's promotion of swimming education following.
